Civil Society on the final round of negotiations on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration: This is the Beginning, Not the End

After more than two years since UN Member States adopted the New York Declaration, the drafting process of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) has come to an end last week, on 13 July, in New York.

Civil Society Statement on the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (GCM) in advance of the Sixth and Final Round of Negotiations

As the sixth and final round of negotiations on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (the Compact) is taking place this week in New York, members of civil society are making a strong call to all States to ensure that the final document leaves no one behind and respects the spirit of the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants as well as international human rights law and other international obligations.
