Consultation or use of this site in whatever language involves the full acceptance of the general conditions set out below.

The policy on collection and treatment of personal data by the MADE network website is based on Regulation (EC) No. 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000.

1. Registration data

When you sign up to the MADE global migration and development database, we will collect information we ask you for, like your e-mail address, job title and country. We may also collect information you voluntarily add to your profile, such as the type of organisation you work for or which language you prefer to receive news and updates in.

2. Storing your Data

The International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC), acting as Coordinator for MADE, is responsible for the data you are supplying and fully complies with the current legislation regarding the protection of data of a personal nature, and with the confidentiality commitments characteristic of the activity that it undertakes.

3. How MADE uses and shares the information

The information you provide will be used to:

  • contact you on a regular basis regarding news, events and updates from MADE and GFMD civil society, if you choose to receive them
  • invite you to participate in joint online and offline campaigns
  • remember your preferences in terms of what language to be contacted
  • collect aggregate data on the type, location and scope of organisations and individuals using the MADE website and what information is most relevant to them

We may share or use the information we collect, including your personal information for the above mentioned purposes to:

  1. provide, personalize, and improve your experience with the MADE network website.
  2. You agree and accept that the data you provide to MADE can be shared between organisations acting as coordinators for each of MADE s Regional networks and/or Global Themes working groups and only for MADE-related purposes.

 

and to respond to legal process (e.g. a court order or authority request), if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to do so; to comply with requirements of mandatory applicable law; to protect the safety of any person and to address fraud, security or technical issues.

The treatment of personal data and its use for commercial communications purposes complies with the applicable legislation. We will not sell your data to third parties.

4. Data managed by cookies & similar technologies

We may use cookies set by Google Analytics and standard Internet technologies similar to cookies to improve you use experience. Go to MADE Cookie Policy below for more information on what type of cookies we use, how to control them and eventually delete them.

5. Accessing Third Party websites

MADE’s website sometimes provides links to other internet sites. Since ICMC has no control over such sites, we suggest that you review their privacy policies.

If you disclose your personal information to other companies your information will be dealt with according to their privacy practices.

You acknowledge and agree that ICMC is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, validity, copyright compliance, legality, decency, quality or any other aspect of such third party Materials or web sites.

To the extent you choose to access such services or materials, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with any applicable laws, including but not limited to applicable local laws.

ICMC reserves the right to change, suspend, remove, or disable access to any services at any time without notice.

In no event will ICMC be liable for the removal of or disabling of access to any such services.

This clause will survive at any termination of this Agreement.

6. Rights related to your data

You can exercise your rights to access, amend, delete and contest the data you have provided. Should you wish to notify us in this respect, send us your written request by email to: admin@madenetwork.org.

Do not forget to clearly state the right you wish to exercise.

MADE Cookie Policy

The Migration and Development Civil Society Network website makes use of Google Analytics services. Google analytics uses cookies collect information about the user experience on the website, enabling for aggregate data to be collected so measurements on how many people are visiting the MADE website and how they are using it can be collected.

This Analytics data is collected via a JavaScript tag in the pages of the MADE site and is not tied to personally identifiable information.

What is a cookie?

The purpose of cookies is to make it easier and quicker for you to use the MADE network website.

About the Google Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics sets first party cookies via a piece of JavaScript code which must be added to every page that site owners want to track. It sets four cookies automatically, and a fifth via opt-in (this relates to sharing information about your traffic with Google).

Globally and in the European Union member states Google sets the following cookies:

  • __utma Cookie
    A persistent cookie - remains on a computer, unless it expires or the cookie cache is cleared. It tracks visitors. Metrics associated with the Google __utma cookie include: first visit (unique visit), last visit (returning visit). This also includes Days and Visits.
  • __utmb Cookie & __utmc Cookie
    These cookies work in tandem to calculate visit length. Google __utmb cookie demarks the exact arrival time, then Google __utmc registers the precise exit time of the user.
  • Because __utmb counts entrance visits, it is a session cookie, and expires at the end of the session, e.g. when the user leaves the page. A timestamp of 30 minutes must pass before Google cookie __utmc expires. Given__utmc cannot tell if a browser or website session ends. Therefore, if no new page view is recorded in 30 minutes the cookie is expired.
  • This is a standard 'grace period' in web analytics.
  •  __utmz Cookie
    Cookie __utmz monitors the HTTP Referrer and notes where a visitor arrived from, with the referrer siloed into type (Search engine (organic or cpc), direct, social and unaccounted). From the HTTP Referrer the   __utmz Cookie also registers, what keyword generated the visit plus geolocation data.
  • __utmv Cookie
    Google __utmv Cookie lasts "forever". It is a persistant cookie. It is used for segmentation, data experimentation and  the __utmv works hand in hand with the   __utmz cookie to improve cookie targeting capabilities.

How can I control and delete cookies?

 To control cookies, you may choose to navigate this site using your browser’s anonymous usage setting (called “Incognito” in Chrome, “InPrivate” for Internet Explorer, “Private Browsing” in Firefox and Safari etc.).

If you wish to delete cookies, you may do this through your browser settings. The ‘Help’ function within your browser should tell you how.
