Vision

A VISION FOR MADE

MADE believes a world where refugees, migrants and diaspora can preserve their family unity, join new communities, build new lives and access their human rights without discrimination and where their role, access and contribution to development is fully respected; a world where:

  • Migration is a choice, not a necessity
  • Violations of migrants’ rights are a thing of the past and human rights of all migrants, families and communities are protected
  • Development approaches are rigorously tested and framed to be human, respectful of nature and sustainable
  • Migrants, diaspora members and civil society have a central role in all decision-making that affects migrants and their families

Taking as its starting point the civil society organising and agenda-setting around the first years of the Global Forum on Migration and Development, MADE takes forward the 5-year 8-point Plan of Action that global civil society adopted in 2013 as its agenda for change and collaboration, including with governments.
