The network is organized around sub-regional focal points in West, East, North, South and Central Africa, and led by Caritas Senegal and a Steering Committee and collaborates with other civil society organisations to promote human-rights driven migration policies. All civil society organizations working or interested in the field of migration, migrant rights and development in Africa are welcome to join and participate in upcoming regional events, advocacy actions and other activities.

Observation Mission to Agadez, Niger

From 20 to 30 October 2016, MADE Africa coordinator Caritas Senegal organized a joint observation mission to one of the migrant centers run by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Agadez, Niger. Working in partnership with other organizations, the mission’s aim was to monitor the implementation of one of the post-Valetta projects funded by the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF) and more specifically to observe to what extent the rights of migrants and their freedom of movement are respected in accordance with the Protocols of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Taking Stock of Valletta

On 8/9 February 2017, four senior representatives of African and European civil society were invited to attend a Senior Officials’ Meeting in Malta, which took stock of the state of implementation of the Joint Valletta Action Plan (JVAP), conceived in November 2015.

New perspectives for MADE Africa

On February 27 and 28 MADE Africa organized a conference in Dakar, Senegal dedicated to "Evaluation, capitalization and formulation of perspectives".

Cooperation EU - West Africa: For a sincere dialogue

The Togolese capital will host from 20 to 24 June 2016 a high-level meeting of Heads of Delegation of the European Union in West Africa followed by a dialogue with the commissioners of ECOWAS and UEMOA on the cooperation strategy between the European Union and western Africa.
