PILOT FUND CAMBODIA
Duration project: August 2015 to June 2016
In Cambodia, the MADE Pilot Fund project is led by the Legal Support for Children and Women (LSCW).
The objectives of this project are to:
- Promote a political agenda for the ratification and enforcement of Conventions on migrant workers.
- Build partnerships with national stakeholders to promote legislative protections for migrant workers.
- Increased public awareness of Conventions and the rights of migrant workers.
The activities undertaken are:
- Half-day Forum with 150 members of the National Assembly and selected NGO representatives.
- One day workshop consultation with 50 stakeholders. The consultation brought together civil society organisations, trade unions, students and migrant workers. One of the outcomes was a civil society statement with recommendations to governments. This statement was submitted to the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MOLVT).
- 8 radio talk shows and dissemination of online education. The radio shows focused on violence against domestic workers and on the UN Convention 1990.
