UN High-Level Summit

On 8 and 9 May, the first Thematic consultation for the Global Compact on Migration took place at the United Nations Palais in Geneva, focusing on “Human Rights of all Migrants, social inclusion, cohesion, and all forms of discrimination, including racism, xenophobia and intolerance”.

Thee long anticipated Report of the Special Representative of the Secretary General on Migration, (also known as “the Sutherland Report”) was released in February 2017.

Dhaka, 11 December 2016 – More than 200 representatives of civil society from over 50 countries, as well as representatives from governments and international organizations, gathered in Bangladesh this week to deliberate on action needed for inclusion, protection and empowerment of migrants, and the governance of migration.
