The Geneva launch of the MICIC Initiative “Guidelines to Protect Migrants in Countries Experiencing Conflict or Natural Disaster” will take place on Monday 27 June 2016, from 10.00-13.00 in Room XVIII at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
The Geneva launch follows the launch of the MICIC Initiative Guidelines that took place in New York on June 15, 2016. The event will feature speakers from the Philippines, the United States, the European Union, the International Organization for Migration, and the International Catholic Migration Commission, as well as other members of the MICIC Initiative Working Group, civil society, and the private sector. The speakers will address the scope, purpose and content of the Guidelines, how the Guidelines can help States and others achieve objectives in the broader international agenda on migration, and next steps. There will be an opportunity for statements and questions.
