The Briefing on 2 June 2016 at UN Headquarters in New York will be divided into two sessions. The first, “Combating Xenophobia,” will explore the existing negative discourse toward migrants, how to combat the increasingly toxic rhetoric and how to encourage public acceptation of the largely positive nature of migration. The second session, “Promoting Positive, Sustainable Migrant Integration,” will focus on promoting migrant integration, and discuss best practices and proven benefits of successful integration for both migrants and host countries.
