A Dialogue on the Global Migration Compact unter the 9th GFMD Chairmanship

Civil society was invited to a dialogue on the Global Migration Compact on 14 November, held by the 2016 GFMD Chair, Bangladesh . During the event, Eva Sandis of the NGO Committee on Migration mentioned three key points that civil society call to be included in this Compact.

• URGENCY:  protection and assistance now for migrants on the ground
• IMPLEMENTATION:  focus on action implementing existing commitments without delay
• INCLUSION:  participation of civil society, especially migrants and diaspora, together with all relevant stakeholders, in the preparations for, and participation in, the Global Compact on migration.
