European and African governments must re-commit to keeping their borders open for refugees and asylum seekers, with adequate, rights-based protection also for children and others who are vulnerable on the move.

EU and African governments have agreed to the participation of two civil society observers at the Valletta Summit on Migration on 11-12 November in Malta.

This one-day event in Brussels will be the occasion for civil society to call on African and European leaders to focus first on human rights, decency, dignity, wellbeing and welcoming of people in need.
