Civil society meets for MICIC regional consultation for East and Southern Africa

The sixth and final civil society Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) regional consultation took place in Nairobi, Kenya on April 29, four days before the state consultations in Kigali, Rwanda, on 3-4 May. The focuses for the consultations were the sub-regions of East and Southern Africa.

On 16 February 2016, the MADE Global Coordinating Office, together with its regional partner MADE Americas, led by INMD and SIMN, the Global Coalition on Migration (GCM), Alianza Americas and ACIDEHUM with the support from CAMMINA coordinated a one-day regional civil society consultation in San José to discuss challenges and needs of migrants in crisis in Latin America and the Caribbean as part of its ongoing work around the Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) Initiative.

The Supporting Syria & the Region Conference held in London on 4 February brought together worldwide leaders and raised more than $10bn funds. Civil society representatives estimate that $3bn are still of need to cover immediate aid.
