MADE Americas: alliances as a pillar to transform social reality

The International Network on Migration and Development will lead this three-day event in Mexico City. The overall objective of the regional meeting is to identify issues and visions and how they can be structured into viable advocacy strategies to advance the protection of the rights of individuals, families and migrant communities in national, regional and global processes.

In addition to this, three specific objectives have been identified:

1. Continue with exchange of information between CSOs to help refine what issues are the most urgent to work on at a regional level

2. Design a strategy of working together that contains at least the following elements: main issues to work on; naming organization (s) responsible to coordinate efforts on a regional basis; defining other organizations involved in this effort and strategic areas of advocacy.

3. Agree on initial messages that can disseminated across some of the spaces for advocacy and develop activities to disseminate key messages.
