World Humanitarian Summit

The first World Humanitarian Summit is taking place on 23 and 24 May in Istanbul. The Summit was initially convened by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon during the World Humanitarian Summit side event hosted last September at the UN Headquarters. In his speech, the UN Secretary General called for global actions that need to address the suffering of millions of women, men and children affected by humanitarian crisis.

The World Humanitarian Summit is meant to be a platform for Heads of State and Government, and leaders from civil society, the private sector, crisis-affected communities and multilateral organizations to disseminate new initiatives and partnerships and present innovative practices and ideas.

The applications will be open on 25 January.
