Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) Initiative Regional Consultation for Latin America

The Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) Initiative Regional Consultation for Latin America will be hosted in San Jose, Costa Rica on 17 and 18 February .

The Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) initiative is a State-led undertaking which seeks to improve the ability of States and other relevant stakeholders to increase the protection and decrease the vulnerability of migrants affected by crisis situations.

Co-chaired by the Governments of the Philippines and the United States, the MICIC initiative aims to distil Principles, Guidelines, and Effective Practices through a broad consultative process that engages with States and regional actors, civil society, including migrants and diasporas, the private sector, and international organizations.
