The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) is organizing on 27 January a webinar focusing on the potential topics and outcomes of this year high-level migration summits. Peter Sutherland, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for International Migration, will join the webinar with an intervention on the following high level UN Summits on protection of migrants and refugees.
A series of high-level international meetings related to migration and refugee protection were announced for 2016. Among them, two coming conferences in London on 4 February and Geneva on 30 March will address the fallout of the Syrian war and several summits on refugees and migrants will be held at the United Nations in September. It is expected from these meetings to advance substantial solutions for the world’s displaced populations.
